Every year, the market welcomes new colorways of the Air Jordan 5 signature shoe in high and low-cut styles to pique the interest of sneakerheads. The effective combination of comfort and fashion has contributed to the growth of sneaker culture and its influence on sneakerheads.
Furthermore, people continue to look forward to new colorways of Jordan Brand’s fifth silhouette, as well as the retro releases that debut each season. Here are the top five AJ5 variants that sneakerheads can proudly and stylishly wear in 2023.
The Air Jordan 5 Low “Chutney” and four other colorways are set to release in 2023.
1.Air Jordan 5 “UNC”
This Air Jordan 5 goes “UNC” all the way with its all-one-color top. This high-quality nubuck shoe has a smooth finish and a collegiate badge on the heel. The UNC blue-tinted netting complements the frosty semi-translucent outer sole unit.
A black midsole with grey accents runs throughout. The tongue flap is silver to contrast with the black Jumpman. This footwear will be available in full family sizing and will be packaged uniquely.
The AJ5 “UNC” is expected to be released on March 4, 2023. The recommended retail price is $225.
2.WMNS Air Jordan 5 Low “Chutney”
This Air Jordan 5 has been modified because it is available in a Low version. The top is made of a warm “Chutney,” which is most likely nubuck. The sole unit and lace sets are in “Black,” which matches the tongue liner and Jumpman on the heel.
The AJ5 Low WMNS “Chutney” is set to go on sale on September 21, 2023. The recommended retail price is $180.
3.Air Jordan 5 SE “Burgundy”
The AJ5 “Burgundy” was a new rendition of the Tinker Hatfield-designed sneaker design when it was released in 2006, alongside a plethora of other non-OG colour blocking, such as the AJ5 “Green Bean” and AJ4 “Lightning” colour schemes, both of which were given retro treatment the previous year.
The “Burgundy” AJ5 will be the next to get the vintage treatment, according to multiple reports. The AJ5 “Burgundy” was groundbreaking at the time, with a full suede body dipped in a deep burgundy hue and finished with silver accents on the tongue flaps, laces, lining, and iconic shark teeth on the midsole.
While some may argue that it has been long overdue, it has finally returned at the right time. Nonetheless, the AJ5 “Burgundy” is set to return on September 9, 2023, for $200 on SNKRS and a few other retailers.
4.Air Jordan 5 Retro SE “Craft”
The tongue flap and top are made of hairy light grey suede, and the quarter panel is made of opaque netting embellished with milky white lace. Safety Orange Jumpman and tongue liners, with a darker grey Jumpman on the heel.
The midsole is white, the classic flames are painted grey and white, and the footwear is completed with an icy outer sole unit.
SNKRS and a few stores will sell the AJ5 Retro SE “Craft” for $210 on June 17, 2023.
5.Air Jordan 5 “Aqua”
The shoe, inspired by a Chris Paul AJ5 PE, has a black body with aqua touches on the tongue and lace locks. The replica also features a silver metallic tongue, just like some of the original Air Jordan 5 iterations.
This pair is distinguished by canary-yellow accents on the midsole and the Jumpman logo on the heel. The upper is held together by a black, semi-translucent outer sole unit.
The release date of the AJ5 “Aqua” has been pushed back from April to February 2023, from January. On February 4, 2023, the sneaker will finally hit the market. A pair of these sneakers will cost $200.
These were some eagerly anticipated releases of the widely loved AJ5 signature shoe. Jordan heads, and other sneaker enthusiasts can sign up on the official website of Nike and its SNKRS app to get quick updates on their launch.
