In a recent appearance on Late Night With Seth Meyers, actress Taylor Schilling discussed her new Apple TV+ series Dear Edward and working with her 14-year-old series co-star Colin O’Brien. Schilling declared
“I believe that his intense knowledge of what he’s doing is what makes him most terrifying. We come to a finish, and then he changes the subject to, like, rocks or lava or discussing the layers of dirt on the earth.”
Taylor Schilling plays Aunt Lacey in the movie Dear Edward, while Colin O’Brien plays the title character, a young man named Edward Adler. On February 3, the show premiered on Apple TV+ to mixed to generally favourable reviews from viewers and critics.

Taylor Schilling joked with host Seth Meyers that Colin O’Brien would ask her questions about “layers of sediment in the planet,” but that she knew “more about rocks and things,” which helped her interact with her young co-star. Schilling went on to call O’Brien “a very, very talented actor.” She stated:
“He’s an extremely gifted actor. He’s very diligent and strict.”
Schilling plays O’Brien’s aunt in Dear Edward, and their relationship serves as the emotional centre of the plot. Both actors’ performances received high praise from critics.
Taylor Schilling also mentioned her friendship with iconic actress Jane Fonda during her interview, saying:
“Jane is an excellent role model for everyone. Jane has taught me that we need to send thank you cards. And she never forgets anything – Jane remembers everything. I mean, she’s already busy with all of her activities – she sends notes, you know, sharing her enthusiasm for my projects. And I appreciate her.”

Dear Edward is the story of a young boy who loses his parents in a plane crash and is the only survivor. The rest of the show shows how he deals with his grief and moves on with his life, as well as his relationship with his beloved aunt, with whom he stays after the plane crash.
