On February 8, 2023, TVING announced via Instagram that Park So-dam and Seo In-guk have been cast as leads in the upcoming fantasy drama Death’s Game.
Death’s Game is about an unemployed man who finds it difficult to repay his debt after falling victim to a bitcoin scam. He curses Death and commits suicide as a result of his miserable situation. Death decides to punish him by providing him with more than thirteen chances to outlive a specific person’s life span.
The cast of the show includes Seo In-guk, who will play Choi Yi-jae, and Park So-dam, who will play Death.

Death’s Game depicts various aspects of human life that deal with constant pain and suffering, making it difficult for people to earn a living. Some face bullying and discrimination, while others believe they lack the necessary skills to obtain employment. Through the characters of Seo In-guk and Park So-dam, the show explores various sensitive issues in society.
The show will have seven episodes and will be based on the popular webtoon of the same name. Seo In-guk has been cast as an unemployed Yi-Jae who has graduated from a prestigious university but is unable to find work, in contrast to his friend and girlfriend who are living their best lives.
When he falls victim to a bitcoin scam and loses all of his remaining savings, life takes a turn for the worse. Even his girlfriend dumps him and moves on with her life knowing this. Yi-Jae believes there is nothing he can do in life except commit suicide. He curses and despises death because it has no meaning in anyone’s life.
Seo In-character guk’s meets Death, played by Park So-dam, in the Afterlife, who decides to punish him for demeaning and insulting death. She begins to punish him by giving him thirteen chances to live different lives in which he must outlive the lifespan of a specific character. He alternates between life and death more than thirteen times, living the lives of various entities.
Park So-dam will play Death, which will be her first non-human role in her acting career. She will punish Yi-Jae and teach him a lesson about how both life and death are essential to human survival on this planet.
Many well-known actors, including Choi Siwon, Lee Jae-wook, Jang Seung-jo, and Sung Hoon, are reportedly in talks to appear in Death’s Game as extras. They will appear as the various lives that Yi-Jae, the character of Seo In-guk, will have to endure as a result of Death’s punishment.
Lee Jae-wook and Go Yoon-jung, who played Jung Ji-soo in Alchemy of Souls, are reportedly set to reunite for the show. The drama will be directed and written by Ha Byung-hoon, best known for his work on 18 Again and Go Back Couple.

Seo In-guk is also a singer with a successful musical career. He recently released his new single Fallen, which depicts the longing that one feels when they fall in love.
He is best known for his roles in dramas such as Reply 1994, Hello Monster, Shopping King Louie, The Smile That Has Left Your Eyes, Doom at Your Service, and others. Seo In-guk has reportedly been cast in dramas such as Handwritten and Smoking Gun.
Park So-dam recently recovered from Papillary Thyroid Cancer and underwent treatment, and she has been an active member of the industry since her recovery. In South Korean theatres, her film Special Delivery did well.
She is best known for her role in the Oscar-winning film Parasite, but she has also appeared in dramas such as Record of Youth, A Beautiful Mind, Cinderella, and the Four Nights. The actress has reportedly been cast as the lead in the upcoming film Phantom.
