Pedro Alonso will reprise his Berlin character from the original series in BERLIN. The original series was remade in South Korea as Money Heist: Korea – Joint Economic Area. The success of the series was comparable to that of several highly acclaimed Korean series on Netflix. Let’s look at what we know so far about the upcoming show.

BERLIN will continue the story of Berlin from Money Heist.
Pedro Alonso, who played Berlin/Andrés de Fonollosa in Money Heist, will return in the upcoming Netflix series. Berlin is a terminally ill grand larcenist, jewel thief, cracksman, and the Professor’s second-in-command and brother in the series. Netflix has released an official teaser trailer.

The video had no dialogue and only showed Berlin placing gemstones and cardboard mini humans on a cardboard model of a bank, implying that he and his team are planning a massive heist.

Before its unveiling, the series’ creator Alex Pina told Oprah Daily he was open to a spin-off, saying, “We do have many possibilities for some spinoffs, yes, and I think that’s thanks to the strong and powerful identities of the characters. We’ve always sought out characters with intricate, layered designs.
“So I think almost every character in Money Heist has a duality that we would like to see in a spinoff,” he continued. We could watch any of them in different situations.”
When Netflix announced the new season of Money Heist in late November 2021, just days before Season 5, Part 2, they teased the upcoming spinoff briefly with the caption,

We’ve already met Berlin in #LaCasaDePapeland, and now it’s Andrés de Fonollosa’s turn. We can already confirm that the spin-off of his life will be released in 2023.”

Pina and Alonso discussed the upcoming spinoff at Netflix’s 2022 Tudum event. “This is going to be a journey through the character’s golden years,” Pina explained. When he was madly in love and stealing all over Europe.”

Money Heist (originally titled La casa de papel in Spanish) is a 2017 heist crime drama television series created by Lex Pina. The show’s executive producers include Lex Pina, Sonia Martnez, Jes Colmenar, Esther Martnez Lobato, and Nacho Manubens. The show was shot in countries such as Spain, Italy, Thailand, Panama, Denmark, and Portugal.
